The young man, who was in his late teens, sustained critical injuries during an incident at a business premises on Watergate Street at approximately 1.15am on Sunday, 21 June.
Emergency services attended the scene before he was transported to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he remained under specialist medical care.

Gardaí have launched an investigation following a serious assault on Abbey Road in Duleek this morning that left a woman in her 20s hospitalised.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:10am on Friday, 17 July 2026. Emergency services responded to the scene and the victim was transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment.
