Frank Conway is an independent political candidate and lecturer at the South East Technological University (SETU) who has dedicated himself to reshaping how Irish citizens engage with their democracy. A native of Portlaw, County Waterford, Frank has spent years on the front lines of local politics, running as an independent candidate in both the 2024 Local Elections for the Portlaw–Kilmacthomas electoral area and the 2024 General Election for the Waterford constituency.
In the 2024 Local Elections, Frank secured 6.1% of first preference votes (474 votes) in Portlaw–Kilmacthomas, running on a platform centred on transparency, community representation, and giving ordinary people a direct voice in how they're governed. In the 2024 General Election for Waterford, he received 715 first preference votes (1.3%), continuing to champion the cause of independent representation free from party whips and political machinery.
Frustrated by the disconnect between Leinster House and the Irish people, Frank took matters into his own hands. In a matter of weeks, he single-handedly conceived, designed, and built VoteTD.ie — a groundbreaking digital democracy platform that empowers every citizen to vote on Dáil bills, track their representatives' voting records, and hold TDs accountable between elections. The platform now tracks nearly 6,000 bills, 174 TDs, and 60 Senators across all 32 counties.
Frank's vision is clear: Ireland's democracy belongs to its people, not its political parties. VoteTD.ie is his answer to that belief — a tool that puts the Oireachtas in the palm of your hand and ensures no TD can ever again claim to represent you without the data to prove it.
