Woman’s Body Found in Rural Area Near Clonmel
Gardaí in County Tipperary have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body in a rural area just outside Clonmel on Monday evening.
The woman’s body was found at around 8.15 p.m. near the Holy Year Cross, approximately 4 km south of Clonmel, after being discovered by a walker in a drain just off the roadside.

Emergency responders secured the scene and preserved it for detailed examination. Detectives have requested assistance from the State Pathologist’s Office, with Dr Heidi Okkers expected to attend the scene as part of the ongoing inquiry into the circumstances of the death.

At this stage, Gardaí have not confirmed the woman’s identity or released details about her age. Officers are conducting a thorough forensic investigation and are appealing to anyone in the area around the time of the discovery who may have information, or dash‑cam and CCTV footage, to contact Clonmel Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line.
