A 26-year-old man has been charged following a collision in County Tyrone that left an eight-year-old girl and a man seriously injured.
The incident occurred on the Edergole Road in Omagh shortly before 7:05pm yesterday and involved a Peugeot Partner van and a quad bike.
According to Chief Inspector McConville, the driver of the van was arrested at the scene on suspicion of several offences. He has since been charged with driving with excess alcohol in breath, two counts of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving, and additional related offences.
The injured parties, a man in his 40s and an eight-year-old girl, were taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining serious injuries.
The accused is scheduled to appear before Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Following the investigation, the road has since reopened. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
