An e-scooter user has died following a collision with a car in the early hours of the morning in Co Meath.
The incident occurred at approximately 1.45am on the Kentstown Road in Navan. The e-scooter rider, an unidentified man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan.
The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, along with a passenger in his 20s, were not injured.
The road was closed to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to carry out an examination, and local diversions were put in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area between 1.00am and 1.45am, particularly those who may have dash-cam or other video footage, to come forward.
