A man in his late 20s was arrested on Monday following the knife attack of a young woman in the Farranree area of Cork City.

Time and Date: Shortly after 9:00 AM on Monday, 13th July 2026.
Location: Inside a domestic residence in Farranree, Cork City.
Details: The victim ran into the street calling for help after the assault.
The Victim and the Suspect:
The Victim: A woman in her late 20s. She was treated by paramedics and hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Suspect: A man in his late 20s. Officers arrested him inside the property on Monday. He is currently being held for questioning at a Cork City Garda station.
Gardaí have confirmed that investigations into the Farranree stabbing are ongoing.
