MALLOW, CO CORK — The body of a woman has been recovered from the River Blackwater near Mallow in north County Cork.
Emergency services were alerted after the woman's body was discovered on Tuesday morning, 21st of July 2026. Gardaí and the Coast Guard attended the scene and brought the deceased ashore.
The body was removed to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital. The local coroner has been notified and an autopsy will be carried out.
"The outcome of the post-mortem will determine the course of the garda investigation," a Garda spokesperson said.
