Violent Night Linked to Suspected UDA Activity in Newtownards, County Down
Police have condemned a series of violent incidents in County Down believed to be linked to the UDA.
Two families narrowly escaped injury after masked men targeted homes and vehicles in Newtownards on Sunday night. A bus was also set on fire in the town. Police say the three incidents are connected, while local sources have suggested the UDA was responsible.

WEST BELFAST — Three men have been arrested after "disgraceful scenes" of disorder and reckless scrambler bike riding in the Stewartstown Road and Falls Road area left a police officer injured and 11 PSNI vehicles damaged.
The trouble began on Saturday morning, 19 July 2026, when a large number of young people were seen travelling at speed on scrambler-type bikes and e-bikes with faces partially covered, no helmets, and driving "without care for their safety or those around them," the PSNI said.
