Disgraced former Kilkenny GAA star DJ Carey has been taken to hospital while serving his prison sentence
The 54-year-old was escorted by prison officers from Mountjoy Prison to Dublin’s Mater Hospital earlier this week, where he is expected to remain for several nights, according to reports from the Irish Mirror. Officers are required to stay with him throughout his treatment.
Carey is currently serving a five-and-a-half-year sentence after being convicted of defrauding more than €400,000 from over 20 victims between 2014 and 2022.
